How to enable MSI PTT/TPM

This guide goes into detail on the implementation of the PTT/TPM for MSI motherboards in order to install Windows 11.

*** Remember to fully backup all important documents and files to an external hard drive prior to proceeding. Updating to Windows 11 should be relatively smooth, but there is always a risk of something going wrong in the process. Always better to be safe than sorry when updating Windows! ***

Step 1. Turn off your PC by click Start, Power, Shut Down.

Step 2. Once the computer is fully turned off. Push the power button on the front or top of the computer. During the startup process repeatedly hit the F2 button. You should see the splash screen pop up briefly. Then it should boot into the easy mode bios screen(see pictures below)

Step 3. While in Easy Mode, hit F7 to go to the Advanced Mode push the F2 button again and it will take you to the Advanced Mode screen. Click ‘Settings’ under Advanced Mode.

Step 4. In the settings tab click Security.( Highlighted in Blue below)

Step 5. Click ‘Trusted Computing’. Once you click on Trusted Computing. You will see Configuration with a couple tabs below it. Click on ‘Security Device Support’ and make sure that is enabled. Once enabled make sure the option below called ‘TPM Device Selection’ says ‘PTT‘. If it doesn’t, click on the drop down and select PTT. Once all of that is done, hit F10 to save and exit. The computer will then boot into windows normally.
