Congrats on your purchase of the Orbital Quantum X4! Please follow the Quick Start Guide here to ensure a hassle-free startup experience. If you have any questions during this process, please contact us before proceeding.
Unboxing:

- Follow the guide here to break down the crate: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlVLMov_YtA
The crate and interior box can be broken down to be stored flat – Please keep all of the original packaging material, crate, and boxes.
- Carefully open the top of the interior box to reveal the Quantum and remove the 4 sides of the wooden crate and shown in the above Youtube video.

- Carefully cut and discard the plastic wrap. With the help of at least 1 other person, carefully pull the Quantum out of the interior box and set it on a flat, sturdy surface. Do not try to move the Quantum by yourself – it is heavy and easy to drop. The handles on the front are not strong enough to support the weight of the entire system – do not try to carry the Quantum by the front handles!

- There is an internal Instapak foam block that must be removed from the interior of the computer before proceeding.
- Unscrew the two Philips screws on the back of the case and slide the top panel straight back to remove the top panel.

- After you slide the top panel off, remove the top cross member by unscrewing 4 Philips screws shown below:

- After removing the cross member, carefully pull the Instapak bag out and save it with the original packing materials. There is a zip-tie around the CPU cooler. The zip-tie helps ensure the CPU cooler fans don’t move in transit. You can either cut the zip-tie and discard it, or leave it in place. It has no impact on performance. It would be our recommendation to leave the zip-tie in place.
- Using a flashlight, inspect the PCIe power cables coming out of the top of the GPUs to ensure they aren’t touching the fans on adjacent GPUs.

- After removing the Instapak bag, and carefully inspecting the PCIe power cables to ensure they aren’t making contact with adjacent GPU fans, put the cross member back in place and screw it down. Make sure not to pinch any PCIe power cables under the cross member. Slide the top panel back on and reinstall the 2 Philips screws. Do not bend the PCIe power cables beyond their original installation angle.
- Move the Quantum to the location you intend to operate it from. Leave sufficient clearance around the front and rear of the unit to allow ample airflow (at least 6 inches on both sides).
Power Requirements: - Each PSU can draw up to 1650 watts.
As a general guideline, for continuous loads (operating for 3+ hours), the NEC (National Electrical Code) requires that the breaker be sized for 125% (or 1.25x) of the continuous load:
1650 x 2 = 3300W
3300W / 120V = 27.5A
27.5A x 125% = 34.4A
or
2x 20A or 1 x 40A breaker(s)
Please consult with a licensed electrician to confirm the details of your specific environment.
- Plug in both PSUs using the included power cables, plug in your monitor, keyboard, mouse, and ethernet cable, then flip both power switches on (leave the PSU ‘smart fan’ switch off), and then press the main power button on the front of the case to start it up.
- Note that the first startup and reboots may take a long time to fully initialize and POST. Depending on your configuration and amount of RAM selected, the system may not boot up as fast as typical workstations.
- Disable any software-based sleep, hibernation, and power saving modes to ensure stable operation.
- If we installed an operating system for you, all required hardware drivers will already be preinstalled and the BIOS will be updated to the latest stable version. For future hardware driver and BIOS updates, google the motherboard model name to find the relevant manufacturer support page (for example, Asus WRX90E-SAGE SE drivers: https://www.asus.com/us/motherboards-components/motherboards/workstation/pro-ws-wrx90e-sage-se/helpdesk_download?model2Name=Pro-WS-WRX90E-SAGE-SE). Your motherboard model name will be written on the spare parts box.
