This guide goes into detail on the implementation of the PTT/TPM for Gigabyte motherboards in order to install Windows 11.
*** Remember to fully backup all important documents and files to an external hard drive prior to proceeding. Updating to Windows 11 should be relatively smooth, but there is always a risk of something going wrong in the process. Always better to be safe than sorry when updating Windows! ***
Step 1. Turn off your PC by click Start, Power, Shut Down.
Step 2. Once the computer is fully turned off. Push the power button on the front or top of the computer. During the startup process repeatedly hit the F2 button. You should see the Gigabyte splash screen pop up briefly. Then it should boot into the easy mode bios screen(see pictures below)
Step 3. While in Easy Mode, push the F2 button again and it will take you to the Advanced Mode screen. Click ‘Settings’ under Advanced Mode. Then click ‘Miscellaneous’ as highlighted below.
Step 4. Click ‘Intel Platform Trust Technology(PTT)’ and change the setting to ‘Enabled’. Once it is enabled hit the F10 key on your keyboard and it will save and exit the bios. The computer will then boot into Windows. It may take up to 24hrs for Windows to offer the Windows 11 Update inside of Windows Update after you perform these settings changes.
